MEGA music post.

I told you music was coming soon. Dedicate about 20 minutes of your time (and you know otherwise you'd just be just sitting on facebook) and make sure you go through each and every one of these songs:

L'il Wayne- Mr. Carter (New really good weezy)

L'il Wayne- I'm a Dboy (an older L'il wayne song you might already know, it's off of the Carter II and still super popular down here in clubs/bars)

N.E.R.D. feat. Santigold- My Drive Thru

Del the Funky Homosapien- Eye Exam (old school and so sick)

Bun B- Underground Thang (this entire album, Il Trill, is pretty good)

Haterz Everywhere- B.O.B.

Maino- Hi Hater

Dj Doc Roc- Hypnotize/Wild Thing (nice mash-up)

The Cool Kids- Miami Beach (give this a few listens, I didn't fully like it the first few times but I put it on the ipod anyways and it was a great decision to do so)

Shorty Lo- Foolish (remix)

And just in case you forgot this oldschool gem:

Mos Def feat. Nate Dogg- Oh No

That should hold you over for a few weeks.

2 photos

This showed up on my mini feed a few days ago and it was a blessing from God. Mini feed, you know me too well:

What an absurd sign. best part: he signed his name. close second best: he wants people to know that can tell if a raccoon is lactating.

A normal animal may live here, even during the daytime. This message brought to you by Derek Brown.

Also, this has been sitting on my desktop for about a month and it is pretty clever:

Yes, that is exactly what he is doing with a N64 controller.

So, Um... Oklahoma seceded from the U.S.

This seems pretty retarded to me, but ultra conservatives are creaming jeans over it because the federal government has "completely failed states like Texas and Oklahoma by not securing our borders, taking too much in taxes, failing to protecting us from terrorist threats, " so "it's about time somebody stepped up. Let the revolution begin!"

If you think about it though, using thinly veiled racism as a reason for secession is a whole lot better than you know, blatant racism, so bravo Oklahomo, bravo for your touch of class.

Other news: As B lee and my dad told me, Dr. Brian Orr himself was mentioned in This week's TIME magazine regarding this little thing. This birth control controversy is getting way out of hand. As great as it is to see my last name getting some much-deserved attention in magazines, people are now just jumping on the sensationalist bandwagon and not focusing on the issues anymore. That TIME piece talks about how the school's principal knows the girls had a "pact" to get pregnant... While this may be true for a few, I think that this is obviously some bullshit PR excuse to convolute things.

Now that I think about it though, I remember how in our high school glory days, most girls desperately wanted to get "preggers," and this is why nobody used birth control and the entire school responded with a collective high five when a girl came in, proudly waving around her positive test for all to admire (man, pregnancy days were the best days!). I guess that means I agree that no one would take birth control if the clinic offered it since highschool girls all want to be little pregnant sluts mothers. Thanks mr. principal!

One last thing: this is completely off my rant's topic, but oddly awesome

FUCK YES

New song

UPDATE: for those of you who are unlucky enough to not own a mac, i have converted the files to mp3 and uploaded them so those are the two listed below.

So the last song i made, Don't Say Reggae was my first attempt so i was trying to figure out garage band and i only worked on it for one night. i thought it was kinda choppy even though it had some good parts, so i put more time and thought into making this one flow right and i think it's a lot better. Anyways, here it is for you to download/criticize/blast in your audi s4 while rolling through manchester-by-the-sea/enjoy.

The new one:
Welcome to the Next Episode- smEARs

and my first attempt:
Don't Say Reggae- smEARs

i had some sweet stuff that i had to leave out because it did not fit with the sound of the rest of the song, but it will be in the next one i am making, which is going to take a while but be very different style-wise.

Interesting music videos

I hate music videos generally because they are all so very similar, but this is really creative and fun to watch. plus it has dizzee rascal in it, who b lee likes a lot and i like a little.

also, if you are bored go watch any gnarls barkley video. i'm sure most of you have seen crazy which is amazing but too overplayed so i can't even listen to it anymore, but all their videos for their less popular but better songs are super creative and interesting (and it helps that im obsessed with their music too)

My two favorites are "run" (kind of dumb until 2:03 when it goes nuts.. it was banned because it may cause epileptic seizures)

and "smiley faces" (amazing concept for a video)

also check out the videos for "going on," "go go gadget gospel," "transformer live from abbey road," or anything else live because they always mix it up.

PS:::: I am dropping a new song that i mixed up on your heads tomorrow. i think its pretty nice.

hands down worst commercial ever

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT???

"It's okay to be yourself, It's okay to be yourself, Because you are you
It's okay to be yourself. It's okay to release your powerful power because it feels good"

fuck. that.

you all know that i hate commercials in general, so esurance commercials really make me angry. I am honestly amazed that the company made that commercial. it was someone's job to write that song and make that video. this means that someone must have watched that about 40 times editing it, plus all the time they must have spent picking out clips from other commercials for that bullshit "how awesomely rad are we for making so many commercials about erin esurance? super duper awesome right dude bro?" picture book (that's how i assume the 40 year old people who study young people so they can then make commercials for esurance to 'appeal' to us sound like). i'm envisioning a clockwork-orange robot chicken scenario here, because there is no way someone could possibly watch that many esurance commercials or even just that one more than 10 times without going batshit insane (maybe that explains things).

this commercial made me angry enough for a double rant. for more ranting on this topic and in case anyone hasn't seen this group i made a while back check it out:
i fucking hate esurance commercials

enough people hate these commercials that I do not know most of the people on there.

Salvia and I went on a rant so I talk about Japanese people too

I finally got some time to scan the internet for a while and i found this hilarious video. for those who don't know what salvia is- wikipedia- salvia divinorum
stories about salvia- Some pretty crazy stories in here
people either love it or hate it, i think i would be in the latter category. this guy loves it though, he has some other videos but none as funny as this.

it's so odd to watch his descent into madness. he bugs out when he sees the cat and i love at 1:22 when he tries to say something and he slurs SO bad and his tone is all over the place. i watched that part about 5 times and was dying laughing while my roommate was sleeping, which made it so much worse since i was trying not to be loud and holding it in just made me want to laugh more. Even though the japanese and i are not usually on the same page (see here, here, or here), we both agree on this point:

and also, we both think red pandas are the shit (although we disagree on the fact that the best way to express this is by making a woman live in a tiny house with them):

I made a song...

So because I don't really know anyone in New Orleans yet, I stayed in last night and ended up exploring garage band. I made this song sampling about 8 different songs and mixing the beats together, and while it is not perfect I think it's pretty decent for using garage band for the first time ever, especially after 1:30. Let me know what you think and hopefully there will be more to come (although not too many more because I do not want to spend more fridays sitting in my dorm like I'm some kind of liam casey).

Don't Say Reggae

Because it is an aif file there may be some unforseen problems because I do not know what that means. maybe only macs can play it? we will see.

A Few Songs

Hey everyone, its been a while. I am finally all settled in New Orleans, and ready to go back at the internet once more. I'll be updating hopefully daily, but that is to be seen. Anyways, heres some jams I have found in my 300 song download spree:

Stay Fly -3 6 Mafia (trance mix)
sick... ria and b lee will love this one

Cappuccino (remix)- The Knux
Beat and flow is sick even if the chorus is lacking.

Lately- South Rakkas Crew
Not as good as Mad Again, but good still.

and Bryce's special request:
Money To Blow- Speedknot Mobstas ft. Twista
personally I am not a huge fan but Bryce loved the beat.

enjoy.
